Project 52:42

52:42 Guilty Pleasure

Holidays have always held a special place in my heart. The excitement, the decorating, the baking, the special warm and fuzzy feelings I get celebrating with the people I love most. Before Vivien was even born I knew that I wanted to make her holidays feel just as special as mine did growing up.

My guilty pleasure is homemade decorations. Whenever I see something I like, my wheels start turning and I immediately start thinking about how I can make it myself. It really is a blessing and a curse, I always have a million creative thoughts swimming around in my head but there is no way I will ever have time to do everything!

Motherhood has been so amazing for my creativity. It has allowed me time to find new hobbies and so many things I love to do. I picked up my camera and started taking photography more seriously when Vivien was a teeny tiny baby. It was perfect because I had a little model with me at all times plus she wasn’t moving around yet so I had the ability to practice manual mode and all of my settings without her running away or moving too much. Picking up that camera gave me confidence, drive and a creative spirit. I look back on that time full of so much change and love, It’s the time I found my my spark and passion as a mother and creator and for that I am so thankful.

If you are going through and reading my project 52 posts you probably have noticed there is a BIG gap between my last post and this one. I found out I was pregnant, got super sick and lost all motivation. Sometimes life just happens and thats okay! I’m picking back up and ready to finish out the year strong.

Welcome to my Project 52! Each week I will be posting a new photo with a new prompt, If you want to join in on the fun sign up here to get the prompts!
